| The Ghana Atomic Energy Commission (GAEC) has a Secretariat, which is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Commission including the administration of the entire common services and physical facilities. The Director-General is the Chief Executive Officer of GAEC and has overall responsibility for the effective management of all aspects of the scientific and administrative work of the Commission as well as the general welfare and discipline of staff. He reports to a seven-member Governing Board (or the Commission). The Deputy Director-General is responsible for all scientific and technical matters of the Commission including all matters concerning Senior Members of the Commission. A cadre of professional administrative staff headed by the Director of Administration supports the Director-General and the Deputy Director-General in the administration of all common services and physical facilities of GAEC. The body which oversees the implementation of policy decision made by the Governing Board is the Executive Committee headed by the Director-General and comprises the Deputy Director-General, Directors of Institutes, two Principal Scientists and Heads of Administration, Audit and Finance. |
